2024 Full Moon in Taurus

The Full Moon in Taurus on 11/15/2024 lights up the imperative for change in a big way. Conjunct Uranus Retrograde (Rx) and trine (in harmony) with Pluto and Ceres (Earth Mother) in Capricorn; this Full Moon in Taurus is moving the mountain. The change that is here can be eruptive or quiet, earth shattering or grounding, but it is happening. Pluto in the final degrees of Capricorn, before going into Aquarius on November 19th for the next 20 years, is moving us to purge the last of Humanity’s old, dysfunctional structures before creating a New Earth with a vision and ethic of unity and harmony with each other and Nature (Aquarius). We are in the Darkest before the Dawn.

Mars in Leo continues to oppose this Pluto; how are we going to move forward? From our Heart and with courageous self-expression? Or with the ego-self of me, my and mine? The Sun in Scorpio (ruled by Pluto) emphasizes going down into the deep for the Truth. Release of the old must happen, whether  quietly or explosively. There is no where else to go, no more hiding, repressing or pretending. We may have control over how we release and at times we may not. What happens after? How do we reconcile? A Grand Trine with the Sun in Scorpio, Neptune Rx in Pisces and Mars in Leo (part of this geometry despite not being in a Water sign) gives us the support and guidance to move from Heart with compassion, forgiveness and generosity of Spirit. We are encouraged (in courage) to place our sovereignty in flow with the One, the Divine, as this cleansing continues, in order to assure the best possible outcome for all.

Saturn in Pisces stations Direct on the same day as this Earthy Moon and squares Jupiter Rx in Gemini and Mercury in Sagittarius. Jupiter Rx in Air sign Gemini and Mercury in Fiery Sagittarius are in mutual reception. This means that each is in the other’s sign. It gives an extra boost of energy and reciprocity to the aspect. The above is a signature for lots and lots of busy energy (Fire and Air) with words and words and speedy ideas, beliefs, and judgements. Saturn, newly direct and thus with increased power, squaring Mercury and Jupiter graces these intense energies with a much needed rooted and stabilizing force. May we hold a space for ourselves and each other to listen, rather than talk.

We may feel a deep need to go inward, to center and to integrate. How will we go forward with what we have matured (Saturn) in Pisces (Source)? The intensity of the World may feel too much at this time. Honor your emotional needs. What can we do daily and with simplicity to stabilize and care for our bodies and our nervous and energetic systems?

The Algonquin Nation calls this the Beaver Moon. Beavers spend 3 to 4 months in their lodges or swimming under the ice. They live inside and under the surface while using their Winter caches and access to under-ice water to see them through the Dark Times. The Tlingit named this moon Digging Moon for animals digging and scratching at the ground for nuts and other food. May we follow the wisdom of Nature, allowing ourselves to dig deep or dive deep to find the nurturance of quiet and stillness.

“Stillness and quiet bring wisdom. Plants grow at midnight when the World is very quiet,” Dr. Liu Dong and Master Liu He.

Those in the Southern Hemisphere may also feel the need “…periodically, to withdraw from the world back into the privacy of your inner self” (John Sandbach).  We all have seasons within as well as seasons with out. Follow what wisdom you find from where you are in the World and within your personal seasons.

Chiron (Healer) Rx in Aries is in harmony with Jupiter Rx in Gemini and Mercury Sagittarius and supports both celestial bodies to come from a place of healed, positive masculinity and initiative.

Venus in Capricorn squares the South Node in Libra and the North Node in Aries. This creates a ‘T’ Square configuration that points to the missing ‘leg’ of Cancer (Mothering). This is a tough spot for Venus (values, embodiment) and accompanies many layers of geometry in this Sky Map which emphasize the need for the healed Masculine and healed Feminine to make internal adjustments in order to appreciate each other and to work together so as to move forward (Aries) for balance and in harmony (Libra). Honoring all parts of ourselves we are called to shift internally so that we may appreciate each others’ gifts, square our relationships (Libra) with our responsibilities (Capricorn) and our healed Masculine/’I am’ energies (Aries).

Water signs abound (Neptune/Saturn in Pisces, Sun/ Black Moon Lilith/Juno in Scorpio) bringing profound receptivity, and the Sacred Feminine energies support us to pause and allow ourselves to follow our inner sensing and intuitive guidance. There are a lot of Celestial Bodies in Earth signs as well, (Venus/ Ceres/Pluto in Capricorn, Moon/Uranus in Taurus) bringing both shake ups and stabilization. These big Water and Earth energies are harmonizing with each other and continue to hold us together despite the storms of Air and Fire. As best we can, may we access and express grounded emotional integrity.

We cannot find answers in the turbulence. Going deep until we are quiet enough and calm enough allows answers to surface on their own. We won’t need to work or make anything happen. Knowing what to do and what not to do will flow. If we find ourselves getting caught up in the cacophony, may we support each other to dive down again into stillness and repair ourselves until we can come up and shine our Light once again.

The Kiowa Nation calls this Moon the Geese Going Moon as geese migrate this time of year. This brings to mind the poem ‘Wild Geese’, by Mary Oliver: “You do not have to be good; you do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert repenting. You only have to let the soft animal of you body love what it loves.”

There is an old Daoist folktale of a farmer whose father meets every circumstance or external event that effects his son with the phrase: “Who knows? We’ll see.” Things that appear bad turn out for good and things that appear good turn out for bad. Good luck and bad luck create each other. May we not be too quick to decide. There is a lot going on under the surface that will come up to the light later.

Meanwhile, this Full Tauren Moon is conjunct the Pleiades; seven Sisters who were companions of Artemis (Goddess of the Moon, Wilderness and Nature) as well as Ocean nymphs who served as nursemaids and teachers. These Star Nurturers know what a difficult, stressful time this is and are there with the Moon sending us ever more light, encouragement, guidance and strength. We can do this together.
