Lisa Hart The Full Moon in Leo yesterday (2/1/2026) falling on Imbolc felt especially full of Magic, potency and possibility. So many of my favorite things are in this Moon’s chart. Vesta (Goddess of the Hearth) conjunct the Sun in Aquarius, and Brigid (the Goddess of Imbolc) signify attending to our Sacred Flame, the Light within and to tending the Hearth of our Heart Fire. This is also a signature of Leo and this Leo Moon holds the Cradle of the other Celestial Beings in the Sacred Geometry of this chart. Most of the other planets, asteroids and luminaries are in a bowl configuration on the opposite side of the chart, tethered to the Leo Moon with help from Jupiter Retrograde (Rx) in Cancer. The Mother (Cancer/Moon) and the Father (Sun rules Leo) are holding us during this time of profound challenge and opportunity.
Leo calls us to express ourselves with the creativity, fun and innocence of the Child. Brigid is the Goddess of Healing and Craft, bringing more emphasis and potency to these themes. Imbolc means ‘in the belly’ and implies pregnancy. As the cross quarter day between Yule (Winter Solstice) and Ostara (Spring Equinox) Imbolc reminds us that in the depths of Winter lies the seed of Life. The Dark is pregnant with Life. This powerful time for divination, intentions, and shamanic practices, however simple, will bear sweet and potent fruit. Keep it very simple. Leo cares about sincerity and authenticity, not showmanship (Leo’s Dark Side). A simple candle lit prayer, a silent session with the Moon or a Tree; a nod, a whisper, a tender moment with some crayons, a child or oneself will suffice. Keep it warm, fun and generous as opposed to aloof or cerebral (Aquarius’ Dark Side). Play allows us to tap into the Joy of Creation, as we Lighten Up.
This Leo Moon is energized and energizing, helping us to shine our Heart Fire out for Humanity, the World and the Cosmos (Aquarius Sun and Stellium). The personal planets (Venus, Mercury, Mars) along with Vesta and the Sun have just been anointed and transformed by progressing past Pluto in Aquarius and are ready to serve the community with Aquarius’ spiritual gifts. The Regeneration has begun, even as the Storms still rage.
The image I chose for this Full Moon honors Brigid and speaks to me of the Leo Moon (that hair!) as well as the Aquarian Sun (the water bearer). Snowdrops offer protection as we gestate something new. Delicate yet hardy, snowdrops bring purity and truth; an authenticity that provides it’s own sovereignty.
Fire signatures abound as in addition to all of the above we are between Neptune newly in Aries on January 26th and Saturn going into Aries on February 13th. The Yang Fire Horse Year begins February 4th. Holding any kind of Fire Ceremony in the next few weeks will help us to channel all of that heat, light and electricity into something useful and usable.
We may find ourselves resisting all of this movement and intensity. May Jupiter Rx in Cancer bring us the benevolence and gentle nurturing we need to care for ALL parts of ourselves. Caring for what is unsure or apprehensive, giving that part of us space, stillness and acceptance will help us to relax. Relaxation brings insights. And so does Uranus, who, by the way, will station Direct tomorrow (2/3/2026). There will be earth shakings and electrical glitching, both physically and energetically with Uranus making this transition. As Uranus moves through the last degrees of Taurus (in our lifetimes) we are called to finalize a new relationship to Earth and our bodies. The emphasis is on grounding and coherence. Grounding brings stability and focusing on coherence can bring us calm rather than frazzled chaos. How can we attune our bodies, nervous systems and energetic systems to the frequency of these profound changes? For each of us the answer will be expressed in our own unique ways. May we give ourselves the gift of stillness and Heart Tending so that Vesta, Brigid and Leo may guide us well.
